First Degree Murder Charges Dismissed After New DNA Evidence is Uncovered

Houlon Berman’s client was indicted on first degree murder charges. Approximately one month prior to trial, Attorney Richard Finci was finally able to convince the Assistant State’s Attorney that DNA evidence he had uncovered showed that the client was not the person who had committed the murder and that an unknown individual was involved. The day after the meeting, all charges against the client were dismissed and he was released from custody after having been held for nine months pending trial.
