On March 19, 2013, Houlon Berman attorney, Richard A. Finci, Co-presented a seminar on Federal and State Forfeiture laws to the members of the Maryland Criminal Defense Attorney Association. Finci’s part, entitled “What the State Does Not Want You to Know” focused on Maryland forfeiture law, specifically case law, procedural and constitutional provisions which can be cited to defeat the State’s attempts to forfeit property in the separate civil proceeding which follows many criminal cases. The seminar was very well attended by members of the Maryland Criminal Defense Bar.
